I brought my 2013 Rav4 in for the 60,000 mile service. The check in process was very thorough. It was recommended to have a brake fluid flush, but I decided to post pone due to the time needed to do the service and it was over the 100.00 budget I had for service today. I was told the normal oil change and tire rotation would need to be done and it was on special for less than the 100.00 I advised that in the spring I thought I would need new tires and asked if the tire rotation was really needed. The check in technician went to look at the condition of the tires and came back in agreement. There was a front head light that was out and needed to be fixed. The technician was very thorough to get me a price. He quoted me a price for the oil change and head light and I felt reassured that the cost was not going to be over 100.00. I was very grateful for the time the technician took to make sure I had the service completed on my car, but also stayed within my budget.

I drove 2+ hours from Mishawaka, Indiana to St. Charles, Illinois to test drive and potentially purchase a 2014 S550 4 matic. My communications had been with Louis Scaramuzzo for approximately a week or so and I was extremely excited when I arrived. When I arrived I had most of my documentation already prepared including an online $200 discount coupon that I brought with me. I presented the coupon to Mr. Scaramuzzo and told him what it was and he took it and went to speak with the Finance manager. Later, when I sat to sign the purchasing documentation, I asked about the $200 discount. Mr. Scaramuzzo told me he couldn't find the document that I had given him earlier and that he must have misplaced it. I showed the Finance manager the PDF file I downloaded to my phone and he told me that I would have to take it up with the salesman or the used car manager because he already had the documentation typed up and he would need another 45 minutes to redo it. He stated there were people waiting and me being polite, I backed down and let him go over the paperwork he had already completed instead of making him redo it. I was assured on that day, February 2, 2019 by Mr. Scaramuzzo that a check would be sent to me for the $200 dollars. On February 4, 2019 I was contacted by Mr. Scaramuzzo who asked me how I liked the car. I told him I loved it but wanted to remind him of the conversation we had pertaining to the $200 check. He assured me he had spoken to the General Manager and that a check would be issued. On February 13, 2019 (9 days later) I contacted Mr. Scaramuzzo about the check not arriving yet and just a reminder about our arrangement. i know the post office can be slow sometimes so I remain patient. I have not heard from Mr. Scaramuzzo today but I am under the impression someone is trying to sweep this under the rug. I have already had to replace all 4 tires and a bent wheel since I have owned the vehicle and aside from that frustration, along with the Finance Manager's somewhat rude and pushy disposition, all I asked for is that a promise be kept. I will wait another week or so, and if I have not received my $200 I will contact the General Manager himself and find out if he was really ever even approached about this at all. I dislike dishonesty. This is not the proper way, in my opinion, to conduct business with a CUSTOMER.Update: On February 18 I received a $200 check from the General Manager. He seems to sincerely care and because of his actions, I would definitely purchase another vehicle from St Charles Mercedes Benz. Thanks for stepping up to the plate and delivering !
